There are over 10,000 Ghanaians living in South Africa, the Foreign Minister has said.
Speaking on Citi FM’s Breakfast Show Tuesday April 21, 2015, and monitored by ghanabusinessnews.com, Ms. Hannah Tetteh who was answering questions on the state of Ghanaians in South Africa in the wake of the xenophobic attacks on foreigners in that country, she said the country’s High Commission in South Africa has been in touch with the various Ghana associations in that country.
She also said the number of Ghanaians in South Africa was collected from these associations for possible evacuation if that becomes necessary.
So far it has been confirmed that no Ghanaian has been killed. The five Ghanaians who have so far died in that country were not victims of xenophobia, the Minister said.
