Ghana is participating in the ongoing 2015 Vakantiebeurs Tourism fair in the Dutch city of Utrecht, as part of efforts to revive and promote the Culture, Arts and Tourism industry to the global tourism market.
This fair comes after an impressive showing at the World Travel Market 2014, in Excel, London where participants thronged the Ghana Stand to familiarise themselves with the country’s tourism resources and had a special moment during the national day celebrations.
Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister of Tourism Culture and Creative Arts said she is confident in using this platform to market Ghana’s varied tourist products to the European and Dutch market in order to attract foreign investors in the tourism industry.
In a release issued to Ghana News Agency on Wednesday in Accra she added that Ghana also wants to use the opportunity to sustain Dutch interest in Ghana’s tourism and encourage more visitors from Europe.
The Vakantiebeurs Holiday Show in Utrecht is the main consumer travel show of the year in The Netherlands, with more than 122,000 visitors in 2014.
The dedicated Trade Day allows industry partners to set up appointments and explore potential business opportunities within the Dutch market.
The 2015 Vakantiebeurs Trade Fair is aimed at giving participating countries the regional platform to explore West Africa’s market of about 300 million consumers.
The trade fair would also afford participants the opportunity to take part in conferences, seminars and workshops on various themes related to the overall objective of the fair.
