The Ghana Taekwondo Federation in collaboration with the embassy of the Republic of Korea, will from December 11-13, organize a taekwondo tournament dubbed “2014 Korea Cup” at the RLG Hathiramani Sports Hall of the Accra Sports Stadium.
A statement signed by Patrick Johnson, General Secretary (GTK), said the competition was to offer young talents the needed exposure and experience to boost their confidence ahead of international competitions.
It said about 200 hundred contestants are expected to participate in the tournament, which will also provide players the opportunity to justify their inclusion ahead of the World Tae-Kwondo Championship and All Africa Games, next year.
Outstanding athletes will be rewarded with medals, trophies, certificates and souvenirs.
According to the statement, there will also be a special training programme for referees and coaches ahead of the competition.
