The Regional Competition Authority, a trade agency of the Economic Community for West African States (ECOWAS) on Tuesday began a four-day meeting in Banjul aimed at promoting fair trade and healthy competition in the community’s market.
The Commissioner for ECOWAS Regional Competition Authority (ECRA), Tei Konzi, said the meeting would witness the adoption of decisions that would promote compliance with the regional competition rules.
“Those decisions would facilitate the efficient and effective operationalization of the ECOWAS Regional Competition Authority and to design a road map for ECRA,” he said.
The Gambia’s Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment, Ebrima Jammeh said the country had attached great importance to regional integration and it’s committed to the implementation of regional protocols and programmes.
