The Kingdom of Morocco will from this year offer scholarship to 45 media practitioners in Ghana to pursue training in Communication and Information Technology. The capacity enhancement training, which will be funded by the Government of Morocco, will see media men and women acquiring skills that will be needed to strengthen their individual expertise in the field of Media and its allied courses.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco, Nezha Alaoui M’hammdi made these known yesterday when she paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Information and Media Relations, Hon Mahama Ayariga in Accra.
The Ambassador indicated that Ghana represented a shining example with regard to democratic values, which must be championed by improving the media landscape of the country.
On bilateral relations between the two countries, the Ambassador reiterated her country’s preparedness to share its areas of competencies with Ghana to propel the development of the two countries.
In his remarks, the Minister for Information and Media Relations, Hon Mahama Ayariga expressed gratitude for the training offered by the Moroccan Government. He stated that the programme would be crucial in sustaining the culture of democratic excellence that continued to thrive in Ghana.
Hon. Ayariga also commended the Kingdom of Morocco for being “an Island of peace’’ despite some hostilities within the North African Sub-region.
