The Country Director of the French Development Agency (AFD) in Ghana, Mrs. Amelie July and the French Ambassador to Ghana, H.E Frederic Clavier, on September 24th, 2014, joined the CEFEB Alumni in marking the 50th anniversary of its corporate University, the Centre for financial, Economic and Banking Studies (CEFEB) in Accra.
As part of activities commemorating the event, AFD organized a roundtable session where participants discussed the next level of Ghana’s transformational agenda, after which a photo exhibition displaying the history of CEFEB and its development over the years, was hosted by Alliance Francaise in Accra, dubbed ”From the Blackboard to E-learning”.
The CEFEB, headquartered in Marseilles, France, delivers high level technical training in banking, finance and project management to decision-makers and managers of AFD’s partner countries, mainly in Africa.
In Ghana, for instance, 30 executives from various companies, agencies and government institutions have graduated from the CEFEB Master of Project Management and Public or Private Sector Financing programme, specifically designed to take entrants through requisite theoretical research and proven operational practices in the business field, thus building capacity and human capital in order to promote economic growth and development.
The flexible nature of the programme, which comes in two sessions spanning two and a half months each, also allows candidates to effectively pursue higher studies without necessarily obstructing the discharge of their official duties.
This year, one candidate from a para-statal institution in Ghana emerged successful to pursue the 2014-2015 Master’s Programme in Marseilles, after the 2014 admission process ended in June.
