Ghana will battle Nigeria for her Independence Day Polo Championship trophy at the Accra Polo Grounds on Saturday, October 11.
Kwakye Dopua-Dei, Captain of the Accra Polo Club who announced this in Accra on Wednesday, said the competition formed part of activities marking the Independence Day celebration of Nigeria.
He said the competition which had been playing in Ghana for the past 10 years, was also aimed at strengthening the already existing cordial relationship between the two countries.
Dopua-Dei said last year, Nigeria won the trophy by beating Ghana on their own soil and that this year, the club would do everything possible to ensure that Ghana won.
“We lost by a thing margin last year, even though the Handicap of our opponents was higher. We would throw everything into the game to ensure victory this time”.
