The items included bags of rice, maize and beans, cartons of milk, toilet rolls and cooking oil.
Mr George Konlan, Ghana representative of UBN Links speaking after presenting the items to management of the Home said the NGO was touched by the pleas of management of the Home for assistance.
He said the aim of the NGO among other things was to fight malnutrition through its “Fit to move” project and that assisting the Nyohini Children’s Home had been the first in the country.
Madam Betty Aba Annan, The House Mother who received the items, called for more support for the upkeep of the children.
She said though some organizations and individuals had been supporting the Home in kind, there were still a lot of challenges facing the Home.
Mad Annan said the Home needed mattresses to replace the old ones that were provided in 1969. The Home also needs to build a fence wall to prevent encroachment.
