The United States Embassy, has expressed its condolences to the family and friends of the victims of the two American Citizens killed near Akwamufie in the Eastern Region.
A statement issued in Accra said the Embassy is in contact with family members and is providing appropriate consular assistance.
“Due to privacy considerations, we have no further comment at this time,” the statement said and expressed its deepest sympathy to the bereaved families and friends.
“We have confidence in the rule of law in Ghana and urged any resident with any relevant information regarding this incident to report it to the Ghana Police Service,” it said.
The two African- Americans, Mane Lena, 75, and Diop Nzanga, 69, were reported missing since Monday, May 4 but were found dead and buried in shallow graves near the town.
Two people, Nana Obiri Yeboah, 49, and Anokye Frimpong, 24, have been arrested in connection with the murder.
