The Deputy French Ambassador to Ghana, Ms Cecile Vigneau on Monday said French companies are very happy to be investing in Ghana due to the country’s good investment climate and stable democracy.
She said in Ghana there were currently over 60 French companies including Société Générale, Totale, and Alcatel, which were all performing creditably.
Ms Vigneau made the remark in an exclusive interview with the Ghana News Agency during the commissioning of the over $ 20-million-dollar ultra-modern Head Office edifice of Société Générale Ghana in Accra.
She urged other international investors to see investment in Ghana as a nice opportunity to undertake.
She said Ghana was one of the high level partners of France, and that her country would continue to support Ghana’s development agenda in key sectors of the economy such as agriculture, education, mining and energy.
The envoy said France had confidence in Ghana’s economy and the interest of French companies in the country was growing.
She noted that the French Development Agency was financing urban projects in Ho, Tamale, Kumasi and Secondi-Takoradi, as well as the rehabilitation of the Kpong Dam, and the financing of Ghana Grid Company (GRICo) to construct electricity high tension lines from Kumasi to Bolgatanga.
