Ghana’s good democratic governance, vibrant judiciary and friendly investor laws, make her a good destination for investment, Mrs Claudia Quintero, Colombia Ambassador in Ghana has said.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on the sideline of the launch of the Plan Ghana Junior Ambassador’s Project, Mrs Quintero said both countries have a lot in common, and efforts are underway to boost investment flow into Ghana.
In this direction, she said, a meeting would soon be held between the Trade Ministers of the two countries, with the aim of increasing investment flow from Colombia to Ghana.
The Ambassador recounted that Ghana and Colombia started official diplomatic relations about a year ago, and since then there has been some level of co-operation between the two countries in areas such as Agriculture, Mining, Oil and Gas, Spanish programme and cultural exchanges.
She said the Colombian Government takes keen interest in developing strong economic and political ties with Ghana for the mutual benefits of both countries.
She observed that Colombia is one of the global giants in the textiles and garments industry, and that their investors were keen to invest in Ghana.
Mrs. Quintero said with President John Dramani Mahama as ECOWAS Chairman, Colombia would be seeking to promoting economic co-operation with the West African sub-region.
