Lamudi, an online property marketing company, has expressed its intention to facilitate the growth of the real estate industry in Ghana.
The Managing Director of Lamudi-Ghana, Ms. Akua Nyame-Mensah, who disclosed this in an interview with Diplomatic Call, said her outfit aims to play a central role in the development of Ghana’s fastest burgeoning sector by providing a high quality and informative marketing platform which engages all stakeholders of the real estate industry.
“We are helping to organize the real estate industry by providing a place where agencies, developers, and individuals can upload as much property information as possible in order to gain more exposure, and at the same time help buyers to make informed decisions by providing a wider range of options” she said.
According to Ms. Nyame-Mensah, the online marketing website seeks to be the one-stop shop for property content in the country by addressing the overarching issue of inadequate quality realty information within the Ghanaian property industry.
“A data-centered website like ours ultimately educates and informs developers on the types of housing, price ranges and locations of properties that buyers are interested in, so we can actually help drive the industry in the right direction” she said.
With regards to security, Ms. Nyame-Mensah said that Lamudi employs a strict quality control process which ensures minimal possibility of fraud, adding that the company ensures that up-to-date contact information is provided for each of the agents on its website.
“We have a zero tolerance policy for fraud. We also have a quality control team that focuses on contacting property owners and agents about properties they have uploaded. ” she explained.
Also as a measure to minimize the risk of fraudulence, Ms. Nyame-Mensah says that her outfit recommends reliable property dealers to its subscribers by highlighting “trusted sellers” on its website.
Lamudi, an African Internet Holdings venture, is a real estate classified website currently operating in 28 countries including Nigeria, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Morocco; with the primary objective of aiding people find their ideal home, land and commercial property.
Barely a year after its launch in Ghana, the Lamudi-Ghana website has earned over 4700 property listings from individuals and high profile agencies and developers including Orel, Windzor Properties and Broll Ghana.
Ms. Akua Nyame-Mensah, who remains very optimistic of the prospects of the real estate industry in Ghana, said Lamudi’s top priority for the coming years is to become the biggest property platform in the country.
“We want to be able to provide housing options for everybody…from the most luxurious to the most affordable…and to also make sure that we do not compromise on quality in terms of the information provided to anyone interested in any property on our platform” she said.
