President Ernest Bai Koroma of Sierra Leone has lauded the current Chair of ECOWAS for his dynamism and leadership of the sub regional grouping.
President John Mahama assumed the Chair of the ECOWAS Authority in February and according to the Sierra Leonean leader, he is expecting the sub-regional community to make good progress during the Ghanaian President’s tenure.
Speaking to journalists after a meeting with President Mahama, Mr. Koroma referred to the just held 45th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority in Accra as “one of the organized and the most productive” sessions he had ever participated in, adding that “if we continue with this kind of leadership in ECOWAS I am sure we will go a long way in achieving the protocols that we have set out to address the specific issues that are now affecting the sub region.”
Mr. Mahama, he stated, has hit the ground running, adding that the security situation is improving in the sub region and “I am sure with the leadership and dynamism that he is bringing into ECOWAS, we will only go to higher heights.”
